UP HJS Syllabus 2024: The Uttar Pradesh Higher Judicial Service (UP HJS) recruitment exam for 2024 will be conducted by the Allahabad High Court, Prayagraj. The Allahabad HC has invited applications from eligible advocates to fill up 83 vacancies through direct recruitment. One of the key eligibility criteria as notified by Allahabad HC is that the examinee/advocates must not be employed in services of unions and states. The Allahabad HC is expected to release the date of examination soon. 

UP HJS Syllabus & Exam Pattern

The UP HJS syllabus 2024 is notified by the Allahabad HC, which is the examination conducting authority. Any serious advocate between the ages of 35 and 45 who wishes to serve in the higher judicial service must understand the syllabus of UP HJS 2024. According to the official notification released by Allahabad HC, the UP HJS preliminary syllabus 2024 consists of topics from general awareness, such as history of India and Indian culture; geography of India; Indian politics; current affairs; and law and constitution of India, such as the evolution of the constitution and important provisions of the Indian constitution. Important judgement/case of the Supreme Court of India and Allahabad HC. Importnat legal provision of the Code of Civil Procedure; Indian Contract Act, Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, and Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023; Indian Penal Code, 1860, and Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023; Negotiable Instruments Act

The UP HJS preliminary exam 2024 has 100 Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) objective-type questions each carrying one mark. There shall be no negative marking for the HJS Pre exam 2024. 

Allahabad HC Higher Judiciary Syllabus for Mains Examination

Candidates, twenty times the number of vacancies category wise, will be called to appear in the Main Written Examination who have secured qualifying marks in the preliminary examination. The main written examination consists of four papers, namely, (i) General Awareness & Legal Language of 100 marks; (ii) Law ­I of 200 marks; (iii) Law ­II of 200 marks; and (iv) Law ­III of 200 marks. UP HJS Syllabus for Paper No. 1: ­General Awareness & Legal Language

This section is divided into General Awareness and Legal Language, 50 marks each. So the total marks for the paper are 100 marks to be answered within 3 hours duration.

This section carries 50 marks; it consists of the following topics:

  • Current national issues topics of social relevance

Section B: Legal Language 

This paper is supposed to test language skills and include critical analysis of a given judgement, expression in legal language (Hindi & English),. It carries 50 marks.
